Hey,

This is probably a rookie question.
So...the dash, Is it always taboo?
Does it ALWAYS bring the value of ever domain down?
Aren't there some cases where the dash can be equal in value,
to the domain name, or even enhance it?
I have no idea how search engines work, but I've read on different threads some people say it helps to seperate keywords.
I have no idea?
More specifically...what about a domain with e or i in the front of it?
Example...eCellular, or e-Cellular?
To me...the e with the dash looks like it makes more sense.
How about...247 meds?
That makes no sense, IMO, I think 24-7meds makes more sense.
Please, comment one and all.
Just curious, cuz I'm starting to spend alot of $,
and I want to make some good decisions.
And in the case of the dash...I'm kinda lost!
Thx in advance,
Red Rock!

phew.
impossible to answer in one post
lots of threads here in general discussion, i suggest trawling through for a few dyas

in general without a dash is preferred

some domains are better with imo, but obviously worth a lot less.

for example A-Z is amazing. AZ is obviously worth more

same goes for two worders.
seo will treat same, sometimes better with the hyphen but generally value lot less

heres a thread that may interest, lots to read
http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/307779-l-l-l-dot-com-values.html

they are all sold out now

anyway, lots for you to read. i would suggest doing just that beofre regging any

cheers

Thx Arnie,

Well it's too late.
I have already registered a bunch...both ways. LOL
I want to put some on auction both ways,
and see which ones out-perform the others.
But I am constantly adding to my profile...
and I just want to figure out what's best soon. LOL
It's hard to believe that AZ is worth more than A-Z???
Wow, I'll read your url,
Thx 4 your response.

no worries Red.

actually , after saying 'Red', i think i will have to watch Shawshank again tonight for millionth time lol

AZ.com actually sold for $500k recently

A-Z.com is a dveeloped site and a company so if ever sold, would be a stack more because of the company.

L-L.com are wildy underpriced though :imho:

see you around the board :)

Yeah Shawshank Rocks!

OK, so this is a tough one.
It almost seems as if, diff names will have diff. results.
A-Z was a perfect example!

Thx...Gov, LOL

t-shirt.com or tshirt.com? :hehe:

Great example!!!
tshirt would not be what I would type in search.
I would def. add the dash!
T-shirt....definitely, IMO.
Now, the value???
I wish I owned both, then auctioned both off at the same time.
Does anyone know if that has happened...
An auction w/2 hot names at the same time,
1 w/out the dash...and 1 with.
And if so...the outcome?
Thx,
Red Rock!
