No future. Only the present. If you have $500 million, you probably won’t trust it with a bank that invest heavily in crypto. Banks are highly regulated and conservative, and everything they do will be in slow motion.

Innovation in banking will be driven by big tech and startups.

In my country, there is only one purely digital bank, and it’s not N26. What we are seeing is a slow evolution, not really a disruptive revolution.

  1. Ignorance is not a valid legal defense
  2. Legal battle is expensive, whether for individual or for large corporation, so people want to steer as far away as possible
It is important that domainers take keen interest in trademark and other related laws. Much of the public sees domainers as cyber squatters, and your arrogance just gives the industry more bad name.

If a mark is well known, people will stay away from a domain that could cause likelihood of confusion. This means selling a N26*.*** domain is made more difficult.

It is important to note that N26.world is recently registered. Also, a person claimed to own the domain in a public forum, and in the same thread, the same person noted the growth of N26 and was promptly made aware of the trademark. None of these is good if the TM owner accuse the person of attempting to profit from their mark.

Domainers should also look up “phantom mark” and be cautious when marketing names like N21 or N25.

Nothing contained herein should be constituted as a legal advice. Domain owners should consult their own IP lawyer for legal consultation on domaining and trademark law.
