I list a domain at Afternic, and get price request. I post prices, and then nothing happens. So this is not a good way to sell at Afternic. I can't even know if there was a potential buyer, or Afternic wanted me to visit their website from timeto time.
But people say Afternic works. How?
I search my Afternic domains with or without prices on Godaddy, and Godaddy only says it is not available. SO what is the point of listing on Afternic if domains won't be shown as available with price or make offer info at Afternic's number 1 partner.
I suspect it works like this: Someone searches for a domain, Godaddy and others show it as unavailable but say backordering is possible, and buyers pay 200 USD refundable backorder fee, and Godaddy takes that money and bid at Sedo to secure domain below 200. This way 10K worth domains sell for 100.
If we don't list our domains at Afternic someone else can, and when there is an offer, they make a bid at Sedo for actual listing, and after securing both deals they guarantee profit.
Solution to this problem: We should be shown IPs.
