Back links are just incoming links to your domain or website.

For example if I said namepros.com has 500 backlinks, that would mean 500 different websites have a www.namepros.com link. This is applicable to domaining because having a lot of backlinks implies a lot of traffic potential.

Hi.

If your looking to buy a domain name then you should look for a domain name that already has quite a few backlinks. You technically cannot generate them for a domain you don't own. However with that being said you can ask other webmasters to place links to a site, and some may oblige especially if you give them an incentive to.
