I would really appreciate any bit of feedback I can get on this. I would like to suggest that the definition of a short domain name is:
5 characters or less
This would include numbers, letter and hyphens and any other wierd characters that can be in a domain name.
I've been tossing this up. I definately think that 4 characters is short. I'm not sure about 6 characters. (Is Google.com a short domain?) I'm definately against 7. I don't want to have a survey on this thread as I consider that it could be biased by the fact that I'm arguing for 5 characters.
I'm also not sure about whether the length of the extention plays a part as to whether the domain would be considered short. Do all these domain have just as much reason to be consider short?

rats.com

rats.co.uk

My gut feeling is that the extension doesn't play a part but I don't know what other people think.
I intend to promote myself as being somebody who specialises in short domains and so it is very important to me to know what I'm promoting. I believe that it is very important to have a clear definition of what a short domain is. I believe that there is going to be a lot of growth in Short Domains in the future. My basis of this is the $5000+ sales that I have had in the past year and what I've seen and learned since then.
Please can you give me some constructive feedback on my definition of what a short domain is. (5 characters or less)
I am most interersted in people's opinions who disagree with the definition and why.
