Hello,I own the domain name xxxxxxs.com. I told a potential enduser that their competitor own the singular version domain name xxxxxx.com. Was I wrong for telling them this? This is a very big corporation.

Legit end-users, do not want brand confusion.

Not only do i get threatened with a lawsuit, but my customers will get confused whether they will go to this "big corporation" who owns the singular version, or go to your plural version domain. It is creating chaos, and that is not good for any "legit" business.

As a Domainer, you can still sell that domain. Because many end-users (especially the small-business types), do not really have any exposure on branding. So you can ditch that domain to a buyer, if you can and then run. But larger businesses who do brand research, will probably avoid it.

If the competitor really does own the non-plural version then of course not. That doesn't necessarily mean they will buy the domain. You may have spiked there interest enough to at least check it out and see if you are correct. If so, you might get lucky!

Ok,I contact two corporations.

Company 1, president of the corporation but me in contact with one of the top executive in his company. We talk on the phone 2times so far.

Company 2, I email the CEO who told one of his top executive to call me. We spoke only once,he said he will get back in touch with me.

Both want to advertise on my site, but I really want to sell one of them the domain name. Is this a good sign?
