Let me first say, This is just my thought and observation of the industry.
But the less people knows about domaining, the better it is for the industry.
The domaining industry thrives on Information Asymmetry.
I might sound self serving and selfish, but domaining works best when you can sell low and buy high.
The more people that enters the wholesale market, the higher the acquisition costs is going to get as we see from Auction trends. More sellers means more supply as well.
On top of that, the more people are aware that domains can be had for wholesale price, and more end users will participate in auctions, and to be honest, it is no rocket science. It takes half an hour to understand how it all works.
End users often spends weeks negotiating for a domains. So it won't take them much to figure out.
It is a double whammy in that, More end users in auction also drives up wholesale price for the resellers.
So the margin will get smaller and smaller.
Where do you thinking the industry is headed?
How will the industry adapt.
Just sharing my shower thoughts.
I am not implying we should keep everything in a cabal.
