What does this mean?

I was looking for some names to backorder and found one that wasn't backordered yet and is pending delete, but when I check the whois on it I find it says no matches?

I've found that whois can get pretty strange around delete time. i.e. no record found but domain still listed as unavailable. I've simply found it the best practice to put your back-orders in place so that when the name is released by the registrar, you'll be in position to catch.
