About estibot.com, I have seen it a few times and others use it in their ad postings, but I was wondering, if it was atleast somewhat accurate.. Even, though I understand it is a computer system.. Overall, what do you think about it? And, would it be good marketing to inlude its results in my domain ads??

There is no such thing as "accurate" when is comes to appraising domains, even if you had it appraised by a team of the world's top domaining experts. A domain appraised at $300 may be worth $3000 to a buyer. It may be worth $15 to another.

Estibot is a great tool, but you must understand it's purpose. It can give you a number based on similar domain sales in the past. But that doesn't mean your domain in particular isn't worth a whole lot more (or a whole lot less).

I sold a .info I handregged for $1 in January for $300 recently... As said above, there really is no way to accurately appraise what a domain is worth to an enduser.

Estibot often does a pretty good job of estimating what a reseller would pay for generics and short dotcoms.

As stated above there is no accurate appraisal for domains. Although estibot does provide really good statistics about the domain that your are looking at. I use these numbers and crunch them against what i personally would pay for a domain or valuate my self. The number it shoots out for value is kinda like ohh ok thats nice type of thing. Although if it shoots out a really high number then you can pretty much count on the domain to be worth something more than reg fee for sure.

Estibot is a useful tool, not so much for the appraisal as for the other info it provides.

Go to the marketplace for hundreds of examples of people asking $hundreds or $thousands for domains that probably aren't worth much more than reg fee because of estibot appraisals.

I think estibot is about as good as it gets for what it is. There can be no perfect appraisal.

Do not consider this bot an appraisal tool. It's actually funny. I have put in domains I sold and it returned absurd responses. As with Real Property as in Real Estate, programs and computers can only do so much there has to be a human to review the material. A trend cannot be calculated nor the motivation of a buyer.

Don't use to base a sale or determine a sale price.

Estibot is a Tool. When used properly, can be a good friend to a Domainer. Its not the end all be all, but it gets better and smarter with every update. It also uses historical domain sales to assist with its valuations.
