I went to install Suse last month on Vista, and when it came to partitioning, I had no idea that to do!

I like Windows XP. It is very user friendly. Windows XP gives you the freedom to do what you want at home and at workโ€”simply, reliably, and more securely.

Windows Vista on a powerful PC is great.

I prefer Windows XP. It has the best compatibility for software and hardware out of anything I've used so far.

I've tried Ubuntu, but I had woes when it came to wireless networking. :yell:

XP Pro, latest SP.
Waiting for SP2 on Vista to come out, then i might switch.

Next in line would be a dual core mac ... tiger/vista ...

Really? Wow, different people have vastly different experiences.
I have never been able to get XP working with my hardware properly for weeks after reinstalling, I'm not using unusual hardware or anything, this is a standard laptop, but it just wouldn't work without umpteen drivers. Ubuntu just recognised everything on install and downloaded the appropriate non-free drivers at the click of a button.

Windows XP is the one for me. It's simple and it works fine.

Windows XP is a workhorse...it's stable, fairly fast, and has excellent compatibility.

Vista = total crap x 1000

I also use FreeBSD for servers and have my laptop now as BSD. I don't like the forks of Linux however some of the LiveCD versions are cool. Recently I downloaded a couple under 100mb versions that boot from USB pen drives and are fully functional. They come in handy.

Best OS of all time though may be XP...it's just got the nuts and bolts.

Well in the recent light of the pwn2own competition and osx being the ONLY os hacked.... I'm going to have to say Ubuntu>Vista>XP>OSX

Actually, all the computers except Ubuntu were hacked.

There's not even debate. Mac OSX all the way.

All the tools you need available, no headache on keeping up with new anti-virus programs and all that.

This is, unless you're a teenage ninja mutant gamer(XP). Or you have serious time in your hands and want to look like nerd(Linux). Btw. you can have xp on macs if you really need one.

And if you don't have the money then, maybe your just not that good in dealing with domains.

Peace ;)

I am really tempted to say Arch Linux now. I just got it down to using a mere 26MB of RAM, which I haven't been able to do with any other OS/distro I have tried.

Yeah, Vista WAS hacked, but only using an exploit in Adobe Flash, which hardly counts (it's adobes damn fault.. not MS)

Of course it counts. The exploit allowed the hacker to gain access to the system. Vista should be more careful with its priviledges system.
