In this thread, I will give you my opinion about your submitted new gTLD domain name.

I will focus not only on its numerical appraisal, but also will take other factors into consideration (mainly renewal fee and what you do with the name, where it is presented, etc), to debate whether it is a good investment choice (in my opinion). Just because I am a new gTLD investor it does not mean that I will give good opinion on crappy names - so I will tell you when I see no value or potential. To see examples of new gTLD domain names I personally invest in, you can check my website www.brands.international.

Rules:
1. Only 1 new gTLD domain name can be submitted daily per 1 Namepros user.
2. This thread is related to new gTLD domain names only - I can not give you my opinion about .com, .net, org or ccTLD names like .de or .co.uk names, as I do not have enough direct experience with them.
3. I am not responsible for any damages related to my advice - it is only my personal opinion, although I will really try my best to give reasonable, and well-balanced opinion.
4. You can submit only domain name you personally own.
5. For security and privacy purposes, all names submitted and discussed in replies must be in
keyword(s) / gTLD extension format (for example royal / estate, or bestgames / online)
6. Comments/opinions/appraisals from other members on any name submitted here are very welcome :)

I like it :) This is actually very clever investment and I will write in detail why:

.Bid is (from semantic point of view) extension which I personally consider a narrow one. That means, you can have only few really good combos there. Usually such high quality combos are marked with higher premium pricing (there are logical reasons behind that), but this is not the case here, which is very good.

So why I think this is a good one:

First, I will start with 1 rather negative point - obviously, there will be only limited number of end users who will find it interesting and useful, but there will be some (it can basically serve as memorable brandable for auction house, or betting site, etc). So pool of endusers is not small, but also not super large.

Now the positive one:

You managed to reg name in narrow extension, and that name is nice combo, but still you secured that with standard renewal. The best part is that you keep the name on registrar where the renewal price for .bid is exactly 0.96 USD / year. Which means that one can renew this name 10 years ahead with cost of 9.6 USD. It really can not much get better then this, and this is one of the reasons more and more people are interested in new gTLDs!

Another positive one: there are no close alternatives available for standard renewal, at least I can not find them now. In 2018, I think probability of resale is 1% for any given year, if the name has BIN price 2k. (It can maybe achieve higher price, but then that probabilty will go sharply down, imo).

Now lets do the math: 1 year cost: 0.96 USD. Projected sale price for any given year is calculated as 0.01*2000 USD = 20 USD.

So this is a great example of new gTLD investment which makes perfect sense, domain is extremely easy to hold long time, domain is very nice, and probabilities are 20 versus 1 in favours of gTLD domainer :)
Also, I do not need to explain really that end users will LOVE the fact that it cost 0.96 to renew, while the name is of good quality..

Imo, if one can replicate such parameters for another domains in his portfolio (this is not easy at all, of course, and it requires serious skills and actual knowledge) one can then understand how easy it is to actually make money with new gTLDs for some people. Great one!
Thanks, I appreciate your detailed view on it.
Maybe you should start a "domain - feedback - service" - website, I am sure you would do great.

Globe/Ventures
I like the name, as I can easily imagine well funded startup or financial company using it.

The name is authoritative and interesting. It is for standard renewal around 35 USD. Can someone who likes it pay 5-10k for it? Sure, the type of ideal end user will have those money. Would I be surprised if I hear that would sell for 20k? No.

On the other side, we need to take into consideration that there are still tons of people who are not aware of existence of .ventures. This of course lower the probabilities of such resale in 2018.

So my take on this is following: if you hold it passively, I feel it will be so-so investment, but I think the name will pay for itself (it will cost you 100 to hold for 3 years, and can you sell it for at least 100 during that time?
I think definitely, even on wholesale market to domainers. But If you give it some exposure in business circles to ideal end users (Linkedin is far the best for this one), someone will definitely like it and pay much more. All reasonably good names in .ventures are registered, so not easy to find some kind of reg fee alternative to end user. Good luck :)

I know where you are coming from with this one, but it will not work out well, imo.

Main reason is the poor keyword: for example, go to uniregistry.com, and put that keyword in the search field.

At the time of writing, we have 207 new gTLD extensions still available for this keyword, while it is taken in 43 extension. For example, end user can register names with this keyword for as low as 3,88 USD for extensions like .agency, .company, .fund, .institute, .international, .express, .solutions...we call this situation "lot of close alternatives for end user for reg fee". It can happen someone will pay 200-500 for the .online name, but probabilities are so low, that it does no make sense for domainer from math point of view.

Btw, I myself did recently similar experiment (with keywords cryptic, and cryptical) as I was curious and spent around 100 to buy bunch of names which kind of make sense as combos. I have learned after few months that those names are not worth to keep, except combo in one extension which seem to get lot of traffic, and after analysis I learned why, so this one I will keep, I plan to drop others. Reality is that end users are very interested in combos with keyword "crypto" when it comes to new gTLDs, and not much in other derivatives of that term, imo.

Denpasar / xyz
Denpasar is the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali.

As in previous appraisal, "lot of close alternatives for end user for reg fee" in new gTLD space.

When we check lets say at in Uniregistry.com for this keyword, we have 237 extensions available for it, while 13 are taken.

For example, end user can now register Denpasar / website for 0.99, or Denpasar / site for 1.99.

So what profit can be expected from the name? In this situation, it is not probable that someone will like exactly your name so much that he will pay anything significant to domainer holding it.

There are also other problems (like limited end user pool, people related to Dempasar), but problem with tons of close alternatives overshadow even that - so I do not feel that name.

Takeout / app

Thanks!
Well, this one is interesting. .App is extension owned by Google registry.

When I google "takeout" one of first thing I see is this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Takeout - so one would say after reading this basic info that it would be reasonable for registry to actually reserve this keyword, as this project certainly can be done also in form of app, therefore .app would be an excellent match. But I had just glance for 1 sec without longer analysis and have no idea whatsoever what are their plans really, so maybe my though of this is not relevant at all.

And of course, there is lot of delicious food out there and apps for food delivery are on rise in every major city. Plus lot of interest and money went to .app in recent weeks. It is a great name. So either develop it and become rich, or sell it to someone who can develop it and he or she will become rich :)

As for competion, this is pretty limited (keywords as "food", "takeaway", maybe few more, but not too many). Renewal seems to be standard. Price for end user probably mid XXXX or maybe 10k, 15k and even more - it really depends also on who you are, how you present the name, to who you present it, and how you negotiate, etc.. Very difficult to say at the moment as aftermarket for .app is just on its very beginning. It will be more clear after year or two. But very good combo where keyword matches perfectly the extension.
