.ch is a mature European extension. So yes it has value, but I don't think buying Chinese patterns en masse is the way to go.

I think buying some short letter or number .ch might pay off. I own some 3L, 3N, 4N .ch
Could be seen as .ch for CHina, anyone can buy .ch, and many registrars carry them.
It's speculative for sure.
