Depends really....

Some How To style things can be easier shown with a screen capture video which would be better then just content.

Several issues with video.. often times the player itself is or can be slow. Quality can be low. The video maker often rambles and what should take 1 minute goes into 3 or 4 minutes.

For the content provider, video is a pain in the ass. Takes time to shoot it, often edit it and then the slow process of uploading and often embedding.

A nice mix of Content and Images is what I like. Mainly screen shots for the images and not just some random image either.

Arbel ... I think the key is to disseminate timely news, views and insights that can be acted upon ...

Rick Schwartz amongst others for example is FANTASTIC at this.

I think Ricksblog.com provides timely and timeless information.

It'd have to be a darn good video to keep my attention and the image shown on the video before playing it would have be a real eye-catcher.

I do think there is a place for both though. People are now almosy expecting to see some sort of video content on all sites..

Content Post for the simple reason that its better for SEO prespective.

Video content won't get indexed and stuff.

Also, like 4u-domains rightly mentioned, the video would have to be extremely good for me to stay on and watch the entire thing.
