What do I do with my site now?

I want to sell my site but I have been told by nearly everyone to continue to develop it. I don't know what else I can do to it. I have gotten about 50,000 unique vistors in the past month yet only 30+ members have joined. If anyone has any advice please lend it. Everyone just wants to see the free stuff then leave.

On your site you say your forum is only a couple of months old, yet you are getting about 50k visitors a month. That's great traffic, but where is it coming from? I think I know the answer, and that is you are using some technique or service to drive the traffic. The problem is that most traffic driving methods only do that and not much else. Most visitors just leave. If you had some banners or AdSense on the site I think you would be earning more, but you're going to have to keep paying for the traffic to start with unless you can attract if for free.

In looking at your members page, most of your 30 members have not posted anything. So I think you are having the same problem all forum owners have, that you need posts to get posters, but if you don't have posters you don't get posts...!

And most sites sell for 6 to 24 times the monthly income, so your $5k price is a little unrealistic I think. To be honest I'm surprised you are making as much as you are, but I think I know how you are doing that. I think if you ask for a more reasonable price of $500-$2,000 you will have a better chance of selling it. The site has potential, but once you turn off the traffic the new owner is not going to be earning very much. If I'm wrong about this, please let me know.

Your right on just about everything. I really just built it to sell and I know that I probably won't get the $5,000 and would be happy with $2,000. Well, I know I won't get $5,000 on this site but you never no what someone will pay that is looking for a site like this on something like SEDO or eBay. I have received a $1,000 offer already so it will atleast sell in the $x,xxx. I expect it though because:

The domain is a good domain.

The style is worth a good penny itself. It is unique and you won't find one like it.

I already did most of the work. All someone has to do is add links to free porn, which you get for free at referral sites, and they have to advertise it.

Let me ask you this to justify the cost.

How much is a vBulletin license?
How much would you pay for the domain?
How much would you pay for the style?
How much would you pay for the rest of the work done?

I think that adds up to more than $1,000.

I'm glad you know that I was not trying to run down what you have built, because I was not. I think it's great you have that offer already!

I see that a vBulletin license is $160 and listing all of your fixed costs will clearly justify a base from which to have an asking price.

Considering your current price expectations I think you are in the right place and you should get that without too much trouble.
