Hi,

have been made curious of the mark.com thread I'd like to know what are popular, well known first names in the most used extensions

.com
.net
.org
.biz
.info
.us
.tv
.cc
.ws

actually worth? Are there any benchmarks and/or past sales in different tld's? What would be your estimates?

I would think that they are worth a pretty penny since most are gone in ALL extensions. Just my guess but I would say a popular name would be worth $xx,xxx in .com.

Other less popular extensions would probably still be worth low $xxx I would think.

I could be way off though as I am unaware of any sales of this type recently.

Yes, that would be my opinion, too. For .com it could even reach 6 figures as we have seen.

.net and .org shouldn't do too bad either.

Would you say the same for a first name .name? Or would you say more because it IS a name.

Probably not quite so much for a .name. I don't think it's really caught on and it doesn't really sound good - ie. michael.name - unless your last name is 'name' than it's great :) .

But I could see a [firstname].name going for up to 10x reg fee or so.

Ok, thanks! I had someone suggest on another thread to see if someone who has the first name wants it, vanity reasons. I would definately be interested if someone had my own first name as the .name.
