I'm running domains for multiple clients now, and I'm starting to realize that what sounds good in the beginning isn't always what matters later on.

What have you learned to value in a registrar after working with them for a while?
What makes day-to-day management smoother (or painful) once volume grows.

My top considerations:
  • Support
  • Refund policies
  • UI/UX usability/navigation
  • Uptime
  • Security
  • Reg/renew/trans pricing
The winners for me are:
  • Godaddy = 20+ years for gTLD's = (All the above reasons)
  • Netim = 2 years for ccTLDs = (All the above, especially refund policy, where they put the monies back on my source of payment rather than account credits)
