A midstate firm is biting back hard just weeks after being sued by Penn State University in federal court for trademark infringement.
For starters, Keystone Alternatives of Red Lion contends that it isn’t pirating Penn State’s blue lion logo or its PENN STATE, PSU or Nittany Lion trademarks.
It also is accusing Penn State of failing to tell U.S. Middle District Senior Judge Yvette Kane that it lost a similar trademark battle before the National Arbitration Forum this past summer.
University officials claim the York County firm is cybersquatting because one of Keystone’s web sites, GoPSUrv.com, is too similar to its own site, GoPSUsports.com. They also accuse Keystone of using PENN STATE and the school’s famed Nittany Lion logo in its advertising without permission.
