new gtlds .Website hits 50,000 domain name registrations

Radix announced recently that Dot Website has crossed 50,000 domain name registrations in less than seven months.

The company announced that dot website is one of the fastest growing new gTLDs. According to ntldstats.com, .website has 51,052 registrations as of now.

14,995 (29.37%) of all registrations came from NameCheap, 6,392 (12.52%) registrations came from GoDaddy, while the others came from eNom, PDR Ltd, 1&1 Internet AG , GMO Internet,EuroDNS and other registrars.

About 120 .dot website domains are already in the Alexa Top 1 million. MOreover, the number of registrars that are currently offering .website domain names is 103, which means that about 99.7 percent of all registrars are offering .website domain names.

.click is also about to hit 50,000 and it's a much better extension IMO because of more affordable renewals ($5 or less / yr), shorter length, and easily memorable. It sounds good too, unlike "website" which just feels forced. Good day
