I like the domain would be cool if there was a award things for the internet like the oscars hah but unless you got a lot of money to back that up then it wont happen. but domain is very nice to make it official you need to develop and get it very popular

even if there are money, its not easy to make it
who is going to choose? who is going to vote?
what categories?
who is going to desigh the site that gives design awards?...

...and whats the value to potential buyer who want to develop it?

Contact these guys and see if they are interested.

If not, shop it around on some domain name sales sites (I would go with Great Domains for that one) and price it on up there! The Webbies are VERY well known and perhaps someone would like to open a competitor. I would hold onto that one for years if I had to because you should at some point have no trouble getting several thousand out of it. I say no less than $5000 starting bid...there are many things that can be done with it and the PAID advertising potential is grandiose (forget AdSense and parking ads on that one). Someone, somewhere will clearly see that potential and take it from you without batting an eye...hold on to it till then.

Dang...I just checked out their sponsors and raise my appraisal to NO LESS than $10,000 to the right visionary. I myself would start higher though.

Wise investment! If I were you I would either develop it myself or put it on the market for a starting bid of $15,000 if you want to get rid of it! The sponsor potential alone is mega.

I personally think that unless you find an end-user, you overpaid for the domain. If you DO find an end-user willing to buy it though, you might see $20,000 or so. I don't see a reseller paying any more than lower-mid $x,xxx though. Good luck...your purchase did catch my eye on Sedo.

Agreed, and I think the time is ripe to quit focusing efforts toward domainers/resellers and move as quickly as possibly to generate more interaction between domainers/end users. The money is out there and the holders willing to spend, domainers are mostly just thinking of ad-parking revenue it seems, which is somewhat short sighted in my opinion (not that ad parking cant be wise itself, but I'd rather shoot for bigger dollars myself).

From the legit sponsor potential alone I would think this to be one of those RARE domains worthy of devoting significant attention to. I would not AT ALL be surprised to see you fetch a solid $100,000 for it to someone who KNOWS they can make that back within a few short years (if that) and profit substantially from there. I wouldnt think that to be easy to achieve, I just wouldnt be surprised. The most BRILLIANT domainers suggest picking a small handful of URL's and working them...there's one for you!

Develop this NOW. Star collecting user votes. And catagories. Find some sort of unique trophy of somesort and maybe some other user donated awards or somthing. Notify the final nominees when close to the annual podcast award show. Have it live on you website and allow the nominees with web cams to appear to the general audience.

Wow this could be huge. You need a name for it too though, not just the Web Awards. Maybe whatever the trophy is could be the nick name, like the Oscars right?

With as many webbies out there submitting votes and nominees I'm sure your audience will spider out quickly.

Good Luck if you develop it:)
