Web Payment Processing? If not PayPal, then...?

I am just wondering if there are any other comparable payment processors apart from Paypal? After having read articles from www.paypalsucks.com I am getting worried about the latter. If the services are available to Canadians, then all the better. Thanks for any and all help!

Quote from their website: Standard Rate: 6.9% plus 69 cents per transaction.
I'm not taking any sides here, but compared to the 3%+5$ ikobo is charging, this seems quite pricy. I don't think they offer a card to get your money with either...
It is so costly. If I were mad, I would choose stormpay. :tri:

Wow. 6.9%? Are there people who use stormpay? :) Seriously, this is not cheap at all. If they only knew ikobo fees! Anyway, it seems that ikobo's popularity is increasing, so they should hear about it pretty soon.

I have not used paypal. But I have visited its website. Paypal has no setup fee and monthly fees. Its transaction fee is similar to Ikobo. paypal and Ikobo charge lowest among the 3rd party payment providers. So I think paypal could be an alternative.

Maybe paypal would be a good choice... IF I COULD USE IT.
Since I can't use it, I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with ikobo for a while. Don't see any reasons to switch them as of yet, so if it ain't broke, why fix it? :cy:

Well, ikobo is a third party merchant account provider as well as p2p transfer service. It's in may aspects like paypal, except for wider country coverage and a little lower fees.

Seriously, what do you think about 3% + 5$ transfer fee ? I need to hear other opinions because for me ikobo is the cheapest sytem I can use, but I might be wrong. So, what do you think ?

yes, I also know that paypal has a narrow coverage. It only runs well in USA and Canada. But if you are in the two countries, It could be an alternative.
Does paypal offer p2p money transfer? How much does paypal charge it?

Hmm. I think the point of this thread is to find an alternative to Paypal. How can you now propose "paypal as an alternative"?

Everyone knows that Paypal is the most popular p2p payment solution around, because they were a pioneer in this field, and because of their affiliation with ebay. However, they also have many detractors who don't like their high-handed customer support, insufficient seller protection, and limited international availability.

Yes you are right. On the other hand people must see that there are good alternatives to paypal. If it wasn't for eBay, people would have avoided paypal by now because in my opinion they do not offer a good coverage and also their services are not so great. But, we can sell products much cheaper and faster with other services. We should keep that in our minds. So, we could make a fee comparison here. What do you say? Advantages and disadvantages...

For many people (myself included), Paypal is not even an option, as it isn't supported where I am. Some try to get around this by going through proxies, essentially cheating the system, but I highly discourage that as Paypal can seize your account (and its funds) if this practice is detected.

Could you tell me which payment provider you are using?

For accepting payments, I have my own merchant account, and also use 2checkout.com for some rebilling clients because they offer multiple currencies.

I use ikobo.com primarily for sending payments.

Heh, that is an interesting idea about using proxies to cheat paypal. Although it's something I would never do. They block accounts for valid customers, God knows what they would do to someone who did that. For now, I'll just stick with ikobo. Seems to be working just fine.

I do not know why these guys use proxies to cheat paypal. Paypal is not the unique 3rd party payment provider. If paypal can not support their contries, they can choose other provider such as Ikobo.

My Ikard was lost. What can I do? >:(

First of all you need to be more careful in the future with it. After all it's quite an important little thingy this ikard.
In order to solve your problem you need to speak with an operator on livechat and ask them to block the card (I hope you didn't have the PIN in the same place as the ikard). After that a new card will be issued to you, as well as a new PIN to go with it. Shouldn't be too hard, let us know how it goes!
