Web Payment Processing? If not PayPal, then...?

I am just wondering if there are any other comparable payment processors apart from Paypal? After having read articles from www.paypalsucks.com I am getting worried about the latter. If the services are available to Canadians, then all the better. Thanks for any and all help!

Has anyone figured out how to get money out of ikobo without paying any fees?

Seems they want you to use an ATM which has a fee.

Hmm, I don't think that's possible, but anyway the fee is only $1.50. How low do you want it to be? I think it's low enough, just try western union or something else. Then complain about ikobo's ATM fee. C'mon, how cheap can you get?

it is not so much the $1.50 , but that it is for each ATM withdrawlal, if I want to use this for my merchant processing and I need to get out say 5K a month, and now I need to go to atm's and withdraw it $100 at a time with a $1.50 fee each time that adds up... both in time and costs. Much better if I can just deposit the cash into my bank account.

And I find WU very overpriced.. but that does not mean I wan to deal with 100s of $1.50 charges either to get my money.

I don't think considering an effective 1.5% fee is cheap.

If you're from the USA you can have them transfer the money directly into your bank account. Either way, I suggest you have a chat with them on livechat, or try to find an ATM which will allow you to withdraw larger amounts of money. 100$ seems quite a little amount, I could withdraw up to 200$ from my ATM and I think it works for even higher amounts.

I'm not a fan of paypal either. So I just use my 2CO account. I love it and I'm glad I'm not using paypal anymore.

Good for you. I'm not using paypal either; I use ikobo and like it as well.

I agree about the global part. I remember I signed up once and when I wanted to send money to someone I found out my country wasn't supported (I could only receive money, not send). Imagine how good I felt. Moneybookers... maybe sometime in a distant future, not for now!

Well, let's see: until now I've tried the following (except paypal :p, which is a big NO-NO, at least for me)
1. Ikobo - signed up after my problems with paypal, but I left it to that because they look rather fishy to me - very slow support staff and I spotted several spelling mistakes on the site at the time (they may have been corrected since then). Plus they seem to need a LOAD of documents to raise your transfer limit from 205$ a month. A letter from my bank? COME ON

2. Moneybookers - they also need a lot of stuff sent to them, plus the signup is tedious, I lost a customer because of that...

3. ShareIt - although it has (very) high fees, this is the one I'm using, it's similar to 2Checkout but it doesn't have a setup fee. A big advantage is that customers don't need to sign up to pay, you can simply provide a link for them to go to and pay via CC.

Oh, yeah, and also, I found some very disturbing threads regarding iKobo on Sitepoint.com - just do a search on iKobo there - it appears that iKobo pays (or used to pay) people to spam message boards with messages about how good iKobo is.

It is true about needing to send ikobo some documents in order to raise the limits, the thing is I never needed to do that and now they've raised the limits to $500 for everyone so I don't think I'll need to in the future as well. I wasn't aware of the fact that you have to send a letter from your bank though... I guess they really take security serious by asking all this stuff.

Well, it does look good enough I suppose, but since it doesn't work for my country I think I'll pass. I'm sticking with ikobo for now, besides they have lower fees than hyperwallet. Thanks anyway.

I've successfully integrated ShareIt (aka Element5 Inc.) into my existing X-CART system by making a custom share-it payment module Works like a charm, and I even got paid with Share-it, and all is ok!

actually I'm thinking of selling those modules for x-cart, including one for qchex.com which accepts all kind of cheques online! if people are actually interested, lemme know! It takes quite a long time to get to know x-cart's template system and php files, so I spent a lot of time on it

On a side note, I also added multiple currency acceptor for x-cart, so that the user can select a desired currency when checking out with paypal or shareit : :hehe:

I've used ikobo exclusively for sending money. Four times now, in fact, from $40 to $200. The first time was difficult, as they have a complicated verification process. But after that it was smooth.
