Web Development Book?

Hi guys

Can anyone here recommend an up to date web development book, complete with everything I know how to get into developing? Something thats aimed at the absolute beginner but has some advanced info too..

I know I can get all the info through tutorials online, but I would prefer to have some all the information in one place, in book form.

Any advice appreciated.

What other languages do I need to know to build my own webpages, besides PHP and HTML? CSS? Will I need to know Javascript too?

Also, how easy is it to hire a developer to make you a site, and then adding content of your own, regularly?

PHP and HTML with CSS will be enough for most of the projects

You can even make a fortune out of web development without knowing javascript and with just above things.

How easy it is to hire a developer and then adding content depends on the developer himself. And the system he will code out for you.

In some cases there are communication problems but if you find a good developer then there will be no problems at all.

If you just want to add the content yourself on regular basis then there is also no need to hire a developer you can look for existing scripts that can suit your needs and it just needs to be installed and done.
