I work for a company that is interested in negotiating for weaver.com. This would be for our company website. Estibot says $58,000, but I think that's high.
Any ideas on where we should start negotiations and what our ceiling should be?
Thanks!

weaver.com owned by an industry leader domain company that does not need to sell the name. You would have to make them an offer they cant refuse. The name listed as "Negotiable" by them so they will listen. Roberts.com sold by Rick Latona in 09 for 20k You can start there and hope they're kind to you with their counter offer. Goodluck
Weaver is the #179 most popular surname in the US with over 138,000 people sharing the name.
This does not include the rest of the world, or the potential generic uses.
If anything $58,000 is low for a name of this quality in .COM.
20K should at least get you a response from them. I couldn't see them ignoring a 20K offer. I'm not saying they will take it, but they will probably counter.
Unless your company name is "Weaver" OR you have a branded product named "Weaver".... it's a name that has the cache of being short and meaningful but might not be worth the expense.
For a company using a name like weaveroptics.com is not much of a downgrade on weaver.com, imho.
