Way to make users join site to see free videos?

My media website hosts free videos from youtube, games, pics, etc..
Is there a way that someone could make it that people would have to sign up to view all of my videos?
For instance just make the first page and all videos watchable but if the user goes to search for other media it will not allow him unless the user signs up and is validated via email?

You can build a site using something like Joomla and have certain parts of the site for registered members only. Joomla even has a thing where members of a site can post youtube videos in their member profiles as well as having their own picture galleries that they can upload pictures to.
