Way To Go NamePros!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank NamePros for providing us this great forum.

SitePoint has instituted fees for their "looking to hire" thread following the fees charged for developed sites, and domain listing fees. This has caused quite a wave of anger and disappointment with many of the members there.

I have decided to stop frequenting SP because of this and the fact that it has become a very elitist and negative forum to hang out in.

I want to thank the staff and members of NamePros for keeping this a free and positive place for experts and newbies to share tips and buy and sell.

I see a bright future for NP and am very proud to be a part of this great community.

I will always be open to helping this site in any way I can.

You are right, people are cool here, from members to administrators.
I respect any other forum, but SP is no where near NP..

The quality of posts matters, and the quality of people too.

Whoops, thanks for moving the post. I put it in the for sale forum because it was the equivalent of the forum that SP just started adding fees to, but this is the obvious place for this thread

It's funny that some of the members of SitePoint are trying to start a strike now. Too bad it won't deter them. They are both greedy and stubborn, I have never seen SP change their ways because of member complaints.

Like most communities, SitePoint has its weaknesses, though in this case, their policy is more than reasonable. Still, between the two, this is a much better site. I check in at sitepoint once every few months, whereas I'm somewhat active here. My only point of contention is that unlike DigitalPoint, this site lacks a good area for discussion of Forum Software and admininstration.

The thing that boggles my mind about Sitepoint is that they are charging all of the fees because they say that the task of moderating the forums has gotten out of control. Yet, they do not pay any of their advisors anything other than free SitePoint books.

Now, if you were to add up the money they are making in fees from the 3 forums they now charge per listing the profit is in the thousands. How does it make sense to not pay mods?

Lol i bet they could have 30 mods moderating those forums if SP asked for members to apply to become mods...

I paid for a Platinum membership at another domain forum that I still visit. But, I find myself visiting NP more often lately because the vibe here is better and people seem more willing to give feedback. I'm enjoying NP very much.

I have to agree with the positive vibes mentioned above. This is I believe one (among many others) of the best things this forum has to offer!
