I would like a dedicated server that is willing to host a couple proxy sites (don't want to get screwed out of a hosting plan like GoDaddy did to me), and is comparable in specs and price to DreamHost's "new moon" plan (if I recall it's 80 GB hd, 4 TB/month bw for $99/month if purchased for 12 months). I was recommended to DreamHost, but they are out of those server plans at the moment so I'm having to go elsewhere. If possible, I would like to get just 1 month for now (again at $99 or under if possible), and if it's working out, then get 12 months at $99/month or under. HD space doesn't terribly matter...if your way of getting to $99 a month or under with that transfer is to have only a 40GB hd, that's fine...I don't even fit 40 GB worth of crap on my own computer! Remember though, the better the plan, the better the chance I'll use you.
The main thing is that I want to ensure that the host will not mind proxy sites. I will put disclaimers on the sites indicating to users that no illegal activities are to be done and that they will be held responsible for any such activities that they do. I already have 1 proxy site and am waiting for another pending me getting hosting. The one I own is wasting away on a parked page thanks to GD (although not really doing too badly on it til the last 2 days when it started making only 30 cents a day, ugh).
P.S. - The proxy sites are the only thing to worry about. The other site I would host on there have no potential issues tied with them and should be meager on bandwidth usage in comparison.
