I would like to start a non-profit charity project based on domain name reselling. This is how it'll work:
1) You list domains you want to donate;
2) I list them on a web-site page where people can buy it.
3) You can keep the domain until sold, but if you want to get it off your hands you are more than welcome to donate it.
4) 90% of the income is donated to charity facilities for different causes. Right now I'd like to donate money for Asian Relief society at http://www.paypal.com/donation until next terrorist attacks or nature disaster. From 10% remaining I leave myself $5 for web-host expenses (approx. 3-5 sells a month, plus domain). The remaining 10% minus $5 are being added to the bank until I have $500. Once the bank reaches at least $500 mark, the money will be up for a drawing between donors who sold their domains!!! This will happen also every month, even if the bank hasn't reached $500 goal.
Here's an example:
In January, Bob donates, a.com, Jack donates b.com, and James donates c.com. They each sell for $500. 90% of (500+500+500) is 1500*.9 = 1350. This is the donation that goes to relief society(ies). $1500-$1350 = $150, that's the 10%. From that I leave myself $5. There's $145 let for the bank. I make a drawing between the three donors. Let's say, James wins. Horray, James!!!
Now, in February, Bob donates, d.com, Jack donates e.com, and Sam donates f.com, and these sell for $2000 each. That's $6000 total. Again, 90 percent goes to the donation, which is $5400. The remaining is 10%, the $600. I keep $5 for site expenses, that leaves $595 for the bank. Last month, $145 were added, but they were drawn as of the end of the month. Now we have an at-least mark of $500 drawing. Bob is the WINNER, he gets 595 bucks!!!
5) Each month, every domain you donate gives you 1 "raffle ticket" in the drawing, so the more you donate, the more chances you have of winning the bank jackpot! If you lost in January, your "raffle tickets" will be automatically moved on February, which increases your chances of winning with each donation! Once you win, ALL of your raffle tickets become invalid, however. But this does not limit you from winning next time, or the month after that, or the $500 after that.
I think this is a great idea to raise funds for the relief societies after terrorist attacks and other mass disasters. This is definitely going to make a difference in the world. It will encourage sellers to donate, and buyers to donate, too! I'm not going to cheat people for domains :lol: I will need a script like a troubleshooting ticket machine on hosting sites to control domain donations, raffle tickets, etc. so any volunteers with this will be given a credit.
What do you think about this? I will probably use my "business-card" domain www . vip-ip . net, but maybe I'll register another domain.
