IT.COM

w-o-r-d-s .com domains, who has them or is buying them and why...

NameSilo
Watch
I didn't want to start this but if people are buying there must be a value so lets discuss. I was reading in appraisals someone asking about some w-o-r-d with hyphens and was getting ripped apart- all replies when I read it was reg fee/lower than reg reg etc.

What motivated me was snap had listed in their "most active" email n-a-v-y.com $30.00. I have been watching and a lot have been not even getting to live auctions($60) ex- c-o-u-n-t-r-y q-a-t-a-r ... I have only 2 and I grabbed them as I am not looking for type-ins but they can be brandable and I like to have a bit of everything in my portfolio.

f-a-s-h-i-o-n
b-a-n-k-i-n-g

Alright, rip away, Gary.

i have none

i have some LL-LL.com words though

i regged some when i realised how many were regged and being used as sights. also how only one more keystroke

plus when you see it advertised it is obvious what it is and the search engines treat same

couple i have that i love:

www.DE-BT.com

www.GO-LF.com

:sold:

I picked some up, but just stuck to L-L-L words... in most info...and all relevant to the ext (with 2 exceptions)

I have

a-s-s.mobi

b-u-s.info
g-a-g.info
g-e-t.info
g-o-t.info
h-i-s.info
h-e-r.info
n-o-t.info
p-u-p.info
t-o-y.info

Thought it was a no-brainer to pick these up.
Once I figure out how to develop sites (I'm trying to teach myself), I plan on dong just that... if I don't sell them first, that is...

I like them 'cause they're not only memorable, but they should do quite well with SE's.

I also have Z-06.com, which really doesn't count as a word, but, again, for a 4 character .com at reg fee that has a meaning...and a following...should fit in nicely with my developing plans

and, yes...I am selling my a-s-s
:hehe:

I hold a few .coms just for speculative purposes. I get some light type in traffic that should cover the yearly reg fee's but l like these are for easy branding. I like that they also are in the same as non hyphened names to the search engines as Arnie mentioned.

G-A-I-N
C-O-S-T
B-U-R-N
B-D-A-Y
D-O-N-E
F-A-C-E-D
W-H-A-T
X-B-R-L

Just added recently
R-R-R-R
Z-Z-Z-Z
K-K-K-K
J-J-J-J
B-B-B-B
P-P-P-P
G-G-G-G

I wrote this weeks ago...

look at the whois of:

G-I-R-L.com :)

I think they are good for SEO as long as Google will consider them as without the dashes but I won`t be regging more than 1 or 2 just for fashion.

Rick does not have problems in regging a few tonnes of any names.

M-E-S-O-T-H-E-L-I-O-M-A anyone?

I really don't know much about these names, but if they rank well in search engines, I'm really surprised that some high ppc names like mesothelioma are still around.

Happy Searching! :)

they may be good, for potential investments down the road...but as for type in traffic, for what Rick is in for...they'll receive none

Anyone have any sales to post? I see c-r-e-d-i-t.info is on auction here at NP's. Also I have been receiving a lot of traffic lately on mine (domainers?).

Also this was posted in the L-L-L thread (reposted here).

check out these sites I found:

http://www.l-a-m-b.com (Gwen Stefani's fashion site)

http://www.s-i-m-b-a.org (animal breeders site)

Yahoo is starting to show the 'dash' in searches, unlike Google, so you can get a better idea of developed domains with dashes.

You'd think Gwen Stefani's site will give a lot of exposure to younger people about domains with dashes.

thanks, Gary.

Way back on page 12 (6 months ago) of L-L-L dot com value thread ( http://www.namepros.com/307779-l-l-l-dot-com-values-12.html ) I brought this up.

I have seen many great single (4 letter) words that are taken.
AND I came across l-a-m-b*com by typing lamb.com at google.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=lamb.com

It ranks #1, and guees who is #2?

Anyway, lots of them are still available.

Anybody here have any, any making money?

Remember, it was just a short while back most couldn't stand "ONE" hyphen, let alone TWO of them.

No one will get rich, but I can see them fetching $$-$$$.
