The $90 million for LasVegas.com would top it, but it's still in progress (spread over 35 years):

    https://www.thedomains.com/2015/11/...gas-com-in-2005-for-up-to-90-million-dollars/

The $872 million valuation for Cars.com tops them all, but it wasn't a pure domain name sale:

    Great for our industry!

I wonder how much GoDaddy made from it...

Note that Block.one decided to launch their social media platform on a .COM. They started off with 100 million EOS releasing 10 million annually. So perhaps it is no surprise why EOS sold off after the announcement.

Paul Nicks just noted on Twitter:

    https://twitter.com/PaulENicks/status/1141040469884977153

that the $30 million was before commission, so the actual price was even higher than $30 million!! Perhaps someone will reach out to the buyer to get the total price actually paid (GoDaddy won't disclose it, but perhaps the buyer will, given there appears to be no NDA).

Wow is right. I had voiceox (dot) com at Sedo and never got a bid for 200 bucks even to start an auction! :xf.grin:

Amazing sale, I don’t think people understand how hard it would have been to get a sale like this, Imagine negotiations for it.

To get $30 million, previous owner/s may have had to turn down other monstrous offers before they agreed to this price.

Great domain name sell for MicroStrategy. And them releasing a press release being picked up by the media will only help those selling premium dot-Com 1-2 word domain names with commercial and/or dictionary meaning:singing::singing::singing:

If you make a great sale or are selling a great domain, sending out a press release is very effective. MS are using the sale of voice and the press release to promote their other ultra-premium domains.

The buyer of the Voice.com domain name, namely block.one, has already filed multiple trademark applications incorporating the term "voice", so we can get a sense of how they plan to use it:

    1) Voice: http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=88461547&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch

    2) Voice.com: http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=88461546&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch

    3) Voice logo/figurative mark: http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=88461543&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
