Hey all,

Many of you know about VirtualDN at VirtualDN.com

The name alone may be regfee, but I'm wondering how much the site is worth (no intentions on selling)

Uniques this month: Almost 1,000 (not much I know, but better than all my other sites)

Revenue in 6 weeks: A little over $100

Members: 127
Regged Names in Virtual Domain Registry: 744
Current PR 0, predicted PR 4.... see for yourself www.iWEBTOOL.com

(No intentions of selling :p)

Value?
Thanks,
-Matt

I'd say the name and website has a 6-7 figure potential the way you are going, looks nice!

I said "potential" it needs alot more work, you have to continue with the concept, once people take notice then so will big domain companies, they all will want it.

Always think of the end user!

See, my way of looking at this business is way different then anyone else I have seen so far. I see people with 5000 domains makeing $2 a piece from them each and I just don't understand it. LOL, It has got to be alot of management and BS. I know 10k a month isn't to shabby, but come on, this isn't the stock market, IS IT? You could make more on eBay selling eBooks about the concept with less hassle.

If people are making $10,000 a month off parked domains, then there isn't much hassle involved, I'm afraid. In fact, that's $70,000 a year of pure profit (after registration fees are taken care of). I can assure you that there aren't any real-life jobs (or any jobs, for that matter) that would pay you $70,000 a year for effectively renewing your contract once per annum. In fact, selling eBooks on eBay probably involves a lot more hassle than keeping domains parked.

In fact, keeping a domain parked involves the following (to the best of my knowledge):

1. Register a domain
2. Sign up with a premium parking service (with 5,000, you can go Fabulous or SedoPro).
3. Enter your domain names into the appropriate text box or send Sedo an Excel spreadsheet with all your names).
4. Spend a few days fine-tuning the keywords.
5. Once a month, check your PayPal account and withdraw $10,000.

With that said, the original poster should be looking at low x,xxx - mid x,xxx.

Good luck!

My point wasn't tooken, anyways if you do the math you will see,

5000 websites x's 15 mins each = 75,000 min There are only 43,344 mins in the month, so when are you gonna get the other half of the sites done and spend the 10k a month?

It is much better to buy one strong name spend time developing it and catching the big score! Who has time to nickle and dime?

Back on subject, I think to let it go right now for under a 100k would be nuts, you could sell a 25% share of it for that and develope it big time.

I don't know why you assume that it takes 15 minutes to optimise a parked domain - 5 minutes is the absolute maximum it would take per domain (a matter of typing it in, then selecting options in 2-3 drop-down menus). Assuming that there are 43,344 minutes in a month and assuming that it takes you 25,000 minutes to optimise your websites once a year, which you can probably spread over two months and spend money in the remaining 10 months. You're looking at $70,000 a year for doing 416 hours of work, so that comes out at about $168 per hour (and keep in mind that you get 10 months of doing nothing afterwards).

With that said, I agree with you that it's always good to develop one strong name and make profit off it; however, dismissing $10,000 a month off parking 5,000 domains is something that I just cannot agree with.

I won't argue anymore with your appraisal - while I think that xxx,xxx is a gross exaggeration, I guess it's better for us if we agree to disagree. :) Ultimately, if the original poster does decide to sell, let us hope for his sake that you were right!

Sincerely,
George

I think the site at this point would be worth mid $xxx to mid $xxxx Keep it growing and of course the value will go up, with the growing interest in domain names I can see your site getting very big. Good luck with it.

Always said that was a great site COMP, a very unique and fun idea.

I would value the entire thing at low $xxxx thats just now, Give it another 6 months or so and you could be looking at a nice little investment.

This is Intek by the way :P

Very nice work, keep it up

Best of luck
Martyn

Hi! Intek! ^_^ Thanks. And thanks, too, Troubled.

Alright, seems low $x,xxx is where it stands... definately will keep it for a couple years and see what happens.

Also, great read on your parked domains discussion ^_^
