Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I just turned down another mid $x,xxx for Keyword (Country) + VR.com

It could be Vacation Rentals or Virtual Reality? I have noticed there is interest in these Geo + keyword VR domains recently over the past few months.

Since we have all VR experts in this thread, here is a question:

Is it more valuable to have VR in the beginning or in the end? For LLLLs, middle position also gets into consideration.

I looked through the list of VR startups, and it seems like among those who chose to have VR in their brand name, about 90% preferred VR in the end. What do you guys think and/or have experienced?

Today is a weird day, I received an offer for each platform that I use: Sedo, Flippa, Godaddy and Domainagents. They are all below $1000, but it seems that the market is opening up.

Funny, I too received one of a series of low four-figure offers today on a premium name... I think some johnny-come-lately domainers are out in force bottom-fishing trying to grab up potential 5-figure names for peanuts... (And sadly, some are obviously selling at this price point - Point being, hang on to your gems!)

What the hell is going on? Are these chinese buyers? If so, could there have been some sort of news story on VR to spark this interest?

Would you guys that have gotten offers today mind sharing what names they are for?

Offer still being countered, so I don't want to be specific, but it's one in my sig...

(Also, from language used in contact email, I don't think my buyer is Chinese...)

In my experience, if you get x,xxx offers, the buyers might be more serious and are likely to come up. Lately I've been plagued with xxx offers! Although, I do have some names priced $995, I hardly ever respond to xxx offers anymore - for the majority of my domains.

Yep I get XXX offers every other day, annoying isn't it? :D

Just received one now for BetVR.

First off, an apology... I'm still out there pushing mid-$$$ offers myself on some slightly-off-premium names... (Can't blame a guy for trying... But I think folks are getting hip to the values at this point, so slim pickens...:-o) Secondly, I think the 1k or so offers I'm getting are primarily from not-so-serious domain investors - I just think they realize the bar has been reset on VR name value, so they've moved up their initial offers... Unfortunately, I've yet to have a single offer close that has come in right at this 1k level... They simply don't respond to the counter-offer, hence my belief it's just "price-adjusted" lowballers... ;)

Don't think I ever showcased this name I acquired a while back... I think it may be great for VR shopping in the automotive repair field... although I do wish I was able to grab the plural... (And I seem to recall 3dParts sold for a nice chunk a few years ago...)

My personal observations on offers.
This time of year, many domain snakes make many a offer during income/property tax time.(in US)
Most investors pay taxes.
Most also have a harder time paying them and many a low offer on names come to me at this time of year.
I just don't state when I get them.
Just make sure your pricing is adequate. But I for one understand when you take the low offers to pay taxes. Do it myself.

Also, it is also good to not be in any more hurry than you may need to be.
You never know what offer will come tomorrow that may be easier to let go of at low pricing.
I'm not saying that all the offers are from that. Just my personal history of offers.
It could also be from those that got refund on taxes or even some combination.

Nice to see things are picking up. Its only a matter of time though with an industry set to make its print on the fabric of technology and how we work/do things in general...!

I'm guilty of submitting low offers too - not recently though. More like 2-3 years ago.

I guess receiving smaller offers is better than getting none at all. :D

In some cases, I do sell, if I find the offers reasonable. I'm more inclined to sell multiple domains for a smaller amount. Like a 2 for 1 deal. Especially with domains that work well together.

For example; If I have two domains for $2,995, I might be willing to sell them for $1500 each. Depends on the domains and the timing of the offers. B-)

It's the same for me I always look for VR domains and offer around $150-$200 and it's all a long term play for me.

There are a lot of domainers currently looking for VR domains to invest in as more news about VR and the money currently invested into it shows there is very good ROI to be made in the VR niche over the next few years and beyond. IMO
