Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

These are gambling domains and I own a few more like casino//vr, bet//vr, vegas//vr they can all go for around $30k easy. Yes it's just a matter of time and we have just seen it happen. It's not big money, it's a fair price. Big money is like $60k if I want to be a real bastard and wait 5-7 years for VR to really blow up.

There is no "inflated for the particular domain". I have learnt that in domaining. It's what you can get maximum for the domain, that's what it means to be a domain seller, to me anyway, especially when dealing with premium domains.

Personally I think domains ending with VR are the stronger variant, but that's just my opinion.

Just to add this domain didnt go to a VR company. It went to a regular casino company who snapped it up. Some of these smaller casino companies (and affiliates too) make hundreds of thousand even millions each year.

You speak like you think I'm desperate for sales. I'm not mate. I can go another 10 years for bet//vr no problem. Money isn't an issue with that variant.

Ok maybe ‘inflated’ was the wrong; yeah it’s a fair price. If the Casino domain sells for $28k (like your bet domain), it’s not a domain where I’d go ‘how hell did it sell for that?’ Like I do with some domains, I would look at it and say ‘great sale’ and ‘fair price’.

I think the truth is VR domains haven’t yet took off how we all hoped, terms like XR was unexpected a few years ago. I think I started posting on here a few months after you joined, I remember at the time you saw a few of your domains worth 8 figures and more than the single word .com's and a believer that even average VR domains are going to be with 6 figures, you just changing your prices now says to me you are bit more grounded and a bit more realistic (even though still hopeful), I think you dropped a fair few too?

I am interested to know, do you have any regrets going all in the way you did? I posted something a few weeks ago in another thread saying I do have my regrets, even though I still believe I can make money on all my immersive tech investments, I did make some investments I didn’t make, but investing in VR domains opened doors me investing in other things.

Your sale shows there’s still life in VR yet, so congrats on that. It took balls to do what you did and put money where your mouth was (I think you know I invested a lot myself) and you still have some great assets on paper, so wish you all the best with them.

I'm in agreement with you there on certain name types. I've sold a lot more high priced Keyword+VR domains and I've always preferred them. I have a larger then most portfolio and started off much earlier then most and have made a hefty profit off those names but still invested heavily in vr+keyword too. Again, the wider you can cast your net the better. You got to have a diversified portfolio.

I think that's it.

I still have about 100 VR domains form an initial portfolio of ~300. Lot's sold, lot's drop too. I don't like posting my names publicly because of getting picked up by Google but here are a few. I have turned down some really good offers, waiting for prime time. I'm very comfortable with the waiting game over these years lol. I always loved VR as a technology before I started domaining so when I found out about this industry these niches were a natural fit for me.

VRCountry
VacationsVR
FitnessVR
HomesVR
EventVR
VR.GG
VRChatRoom
VRHouse
VRTokens
VRDevelopement

Despite what some are saying on here VR is far far from dead. When you have a larger portfolio of good names, it's easier to see and gauge these things and have real data.

I still continue to buy when I see good value. Good luck everyone! If you can play the waiting game do so :)

I don't understand. On one hand you say "Big money is like $60k if I want to be a real bastard and wait 5-7 years for VR to really blow up."

But on the other hand you say "I can go another 10 years for bet//vr no problem."

5 years ago you was talking about some of your VR names being worth hundreds of thousands or even 7 figures. Even turning down 6 figure offers. You trademarked CasinoVR dot co.uk and it appears that you dropped it. You seem to have lost your faith in your domains. I think 6 figures sales could very well be possible in 10 years, so why are you letting go of your domains for peanuts (relatively speaking) if "money isn't an issue"?

The metaverse is all people are talking about with the future of virtual worlds and "virtual" worlds are VR! VR is still the future of the metaverse and will be a powerful keyword. I disagree with the 7 figure estimates for 2 word VR domains that some were coming up with 5 years ago, but I do believe the high 5 figure and modest 6 figure range sales will be reachable. You should know better than anyone because you received a 6 figure offer on one of your domains and turned it down.

Could it be that you're you just trying to liquidate and get out of Domaining? Just curious.

Yes I have a few longtails like VirtualRealityApps in com but not much. So long the keywords make sense I think they're good to hold on to. Again I'm a big believer in casting the net wide when investing in these niches because it only takes one sale to cover expenses for an entire subset. I took a chance on NN+VR and VR+NN when they were available for handregging. Only sold 4 out of the 20 or so I've held which has more than paid for themselves. Same idea with longtails. Don't need to sell whole portfolio just one or a couple decent. imo

The domaining world is an everchanging dynamic industry. Prices change over time. Plus I was a young domainer back then. I grew up. Money is king. Waiting game is fine if you want higher prices and you know what level of domain you have.

Not at all, but I rather keep 50 premium names than 1000 mixed names.

I believe in everything happens for a reason so best not to have any regrets. However the only one that comes to mind is not selling VR5 for $10K+. I eventually got rid off it for just over $1K netting me a small profit overall. I didnt hold that domain as I simply wanted rid off it so I sold it at market price. I'm getting rid of a few more domains, msg me if interested.

Can someone trademark "vrvideos" or "arvideos"?

I picked up Rhivr the other day. In the KING of course. :) Could be pronounced and branded as River...

Swim the Rhivr today! Sounds good for a VR company or game to me.

Hi - being a newbie I wondered if someone could enlighten me - can you just put vr or virtual infront of an already registered word/words or in between words and register that? Any advice greatly appreciated. Bob
