Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

How many XR companies are there in the world, Are they all the endusers for such domains? Or would such stuff be sold in regular stores. I haven't seen any reality device in my life or even if I did, not realized this was the case.

I believe the real demand for VR domains won’t be so much the companies that build the hardware, but for the 10’s of thousands of companies that build the products...that runs on the devices. A domain that describes each product would be ideal.

Hi everyone
I need help to get some of my 200 VR/AR/HOLO domains off my hands. I need some cash to develop a VR company I recently started...need a freakin car! - so I would really appreciate if you guys would take a look and see if there is anything you want - prices is VERY fair, and if you think otherwise you're welcome to offer me your suggestion. :)

Take a look at stardomainsDOTnet

What do you guys think of my names VRCAE.com and VRCAI.com?
VR Computer Aided Engineering / Instruction / Innovation / Inspection
I've registered them back in 2015.

Short, meaningful 5L names with potential or not and why do you think so?

I'd say it's OK. Doesn't have that many searches. But, you never know if an end user can use it.

In the recent John Carmack speech at Oculus Connect, I noticed at minute 39:00 he talks about VR on the web (albeit somewhat vaguely) and his frustration in the lack of standards that make it possible to do effective web VR right now.

I believe this would be a big one for VR domaining. As people use URLs to access content now, hopefully people will be able to directly view VR content on domains in the next... five years? If there is standardization, it seems it could only come from the WebXR project, though Carmack didn't mention it. Thinking back at Carmack's past speeches, many of these wishes of his tend to come true in a few years.

Added a 5 letter myself. Although it contains double V I like it because it's the abbreviation of "point of view".

This domain could be applicable to both mainstream and adult:

POV VR (.com)

Phone-based VR is officially over

https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/16...msung-oculus-gear-vr-mobile-vr-platforms-dead

----

I remember when i (and many people) regarded Mobile+VR one of the best domains, how things change!

I remember the hype on here about the VR+Smartphone auction, some people believing one day it will be 6 figure domain name – I never believed that, it doesn’t even make sense (what’s a Virtual Reality smartphone?), but i just started out domain investing at the time and got sucked into the hype and bid around $1,700 for that domain.

I remember even offering $4,000 for VR+Mobile, another domain that doesn’t make sense; owner should have snatched my hand off for that.

Made a few mistakes investing, just like everyone, but I dodged a bullet with those 2.

Funny, hindsight is always 20/20... I remember when I sold VRsmartphone being very disappointed in the auction, thinking I had let the domain go for much too little and that the Buyer would make a fortune... Bottom line, nobody knows the future (especially in tech) - That's what makes this game so fun!

I knew from the beginning that smartphone based VR (NOT VR smartphones, whatever that is...) will never be a high quality VR experience, but obviously it was a good way to promote VR.
The future is standalone, not even PC based, and definetly not smartphone based!
That's why 2 years ago I made an offer to StandaloneVR dot com (unfortunately couldn't reach an agreement) and completely ignored all those smartphone VR shenanigans.

P.S: I like the term of "mobile" but not in the sense of a "smartphone" related term.

I tried to use logic with most of my VR names, but still made mistakes. That said, a company made a successful game/experience using an exact match out of one of my VR generic dot com names. I'm shocked they haven't bought my buy now $3K or at least negotiated with me. Just shows they still don't get .com domains.
