Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Possibly, but you'd surely be talking many decades into the future before TV's totally replaced, if ever.

Agreed but I am not talking about the end of tv, I am talking about vr being more personal. I don't watch tv anymore, I stream on my laptop using headphones. To have the screen right in front of me and sound in my ears is the best experience for me.

VR will be the same.... very personal.... again I predict tv will take a distant rear to more personal vr experiences.

I only regged 3 - 5 domains with 360 in them if you're referring to me :-D. Ive only kept one, because it's exceptional (LiveVR360 - com) but I am not in denial about its value, given that I do not own Live360VR - com.

I only brought this up because of the discussion above.

I did on the other hand get slightly burnt with Mobile VR and MVR names though. I'll be dropping the majority so if anyone doesn't want to follow my advice and is interested, drop me a line LOL....

(No crystal balls.... Just my personal observations)

Stay only the best of the best, the rest let it go.

Imho.

On the topic of WebVR:

"It provides the building blocks for what developers are calling the Metaverse, an interconnected virtual world where users can travel from one immersive experience to the next, like walking through an infinite series of doors that take you through an endlessly growing virtual universe.

Here’s how Thomas Balouet, cofounder of WebVR-based startup LucidWeb, explains it: “You know that feeling you have when you just want to check a cooking recipe on the Internet, and two hours later you’re reading an article about Patagonia on Wikipedia? Well, imagine you put on your headset to watch a cool relaxing experience, and 15 minutes later you find yourself talking with friends on top of a mountain or flying over your home town. That’s what the Metaverse would be, and this kind of situation would be possible only with deep-linking, one place bringing you to another one related to it, without you having to come back to a common place, or even realizing you’re leaving the first place. Only WebVR can enable that.”

Being in the VR industry, I hear a lot about the search for the killer VR app — an app that will finally get mainstream users flocking to VR. Well, maybe we’re looking in the wrong place for that trigger. Maybe it’s not an app that we should be looking for but a platform that offers a paradigm shift, fuelled by the web. An interconnected array of virtual reality experiences, tools, and products could blow our collective minds."

VR + Upgrade, in king, what do you think? Any opinions on price?

Metaverse is going to be huge.

I completely agree with you.

What I do not have so clear is that the term metaverse in domain names is going to revalue too.

The last official sale published in NB is March 2015 and there are only two. It is more than clear that the Metaverse keyword will be the word that defines the virtual reality space.

Why do you think that term has not yet taken off?
Fear of investors to trademark rights maybe?
Is the term too long in comparison to the acronym VR?

Too early. The metaverse barely exists if at all. Ask the question again in 2 years.

People talk about the metaverse as if it's some big mythical giant that lives in the clouds. It's just a loose concept that will sound different depending on who you ask. The most important point of article Onekey posted is that WebVR now has linking abilities, which allows you to link from one WebVR site / experience / world to another. This literally makes the web one big universal VR platform. There is a company working on creating a universal avatar system for WebVR. These two combined with more social WebVR applications is starting to look more and more like a what has been characterized as a "metaverse"...but we won't officially call anything a metaverse until the public decides....even when the required criteria is lacking lol.

Just sold VelocityVR in the king of domains last week for $XXXX. The name is perfect for the buyer niche as he has a business in indoor-GoKarts.

For sure. I was negotiating last year for vrgear and stopped after realizing the TM was too close for comfort.

You Can Now Check the Weather in Virtual Reality

360-degree clips like a close up video of a tornado in Colorado, for instance. AccuWeather says new videos will be added each week, and hopes to provide users with an educational perspective on the Earth's most exciting weather events. The app is available on the Oculus Store for free starting today.

Great association! I'm active in the Boston chapter. They are really doing a lot for the industry in disseminating interdisciplinary information. I've met a lot of great people and companies through it. Highly recommend joining it. Thanks for sharing @vrperception
