Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Some nice names. Pretty hopeless selling stuff here though. People prefer hand regging VrFlushToiletHeadsetsOnline.com and similar instead of spending mid range $XX for a good name.

I wouldn't worry mate. The way I see it even if what you are worried about does become true that is probably well over 10 years away so still lots of time to sell some of our future tech domains.

I cannot see it happening myself. There will always be a need for companies to uniquely brand themselves and uniquely create a space that people can visit on demand.

The internet works, yes there might be improvements but domains and the web will still be in our future.

For years people have been worried apps would end domain names, but apps do not give consumers the freedom to search exactly what they are looking for.

The internet will be a massive part of VR, AR & MR as will apps. Yes we might see improvements along the way but I will be completely shocked if we still don't have the internet as we currently know it even in 20 years time.

First preference would always be given to VR + kw domains. Firstly because they are short secondly branding awareness is increasing among startups and people in general. And its not difficult to figure out which one among these two "Virtual Reality Something" vs "VRSomething" (or SomethingVr for that matter) has more appeal. If by long tail you mean VR + KW + KW, they will sell but again their brandability factor goes down compared to KW + VR or VR + KW.
New comers and people entering VR Domain market should remember that instead of registering 100s of domains buy one or two decent domains from aftermarket. Believe it or not you might find gems there for $xx as well. When I entered Drone domains market (race), most of the good ones were taken and I did register a few Drone+KW domains (and sold a handful of them), but mostly I purchased them from the aftermarket and a few of those names saw $xxxx and $xxxxx sales.
Hence for late entrants I would suggest that don't be disheartened just do your research and don't register just anything (this is something that you will learn from research (and common sense)), rather keep an eye on the aftermarket and look for good deals. You will find some good deals even here on Namepros, like last week FX snatched a few VRLL .com domains or $150 for so from HugoStrange.

Hi Gill,

I was referring to a comment that another member made who was worried that the way things were changing there would not be a need for the internet as we know it and as a result no need for domain names.

I was just reassuring him that I could not see that happening, I was not trying to comment on which variations of VR would be more popular.

Spot on with your advice though. I have been a happy customer purchasing a few VR domains from you in the past ;)

Solid advice. I'm still amazed at the great deals that can pop up. For example, I always considered VRExperiences.com a key vr domain, and I tried to acquire it in 2013 with no luck, I would have paid 4 figures. Turns out some lucky person got it for only $185 on Godaddy in 2015.

Well, you guys were way ahaad of me on this one. I was still thinking 3D when you guys were thinking VR!

It seems like this technology is the way of the future I'm just not sure how the domain names are going to work out.... so, for that reason, I stuck to hand reg'ing a few the other day... and if the market heats up I will keep my eye open for drops and good deals.

I still have time to grace delete so feel free to chime in if you think I'm wasting my money on these few names.

Watching the NBA in Virtual Reality Is Surprisingly Good

The league debuts a slate of games in VR. Are they worth watching?
Carmelo, get your backside out of my face.

That’s all I could think to myself one recent November evening, while watching a New York Knicks-Portland Trailblazers game. I wasn’t sitting in a posh courtside seat at Madison Square Garden, with Anthony’s derriere obstructing my view — though I may as well have been. No, I was watching this game on a Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset. The camera angle put me right at courtside, near the official scorer’s table — where Anthony was standing, waiting to check into the game at the next whistle. Which couldn’t come soon enough.

For the first time, an American pro sports league is broadcasting aregularly-scheduled series of live games in virtual reality throughout a season.

I've backed the MobileVR trend too. John Carmack and David Holz convinced me a few months back that MobileVR will be the primary method used to introduce the vast majority of people to VR in the years to come. They believe there will be a clear distinction between Mobile VR and the other forms, and online VR will be split between WebVR and MobileVR, much like we have mobile-friendly websites today. Whether or not anyone will actually want 'MobileVR' in their URL though is another question.

MobileVRTech
MobileVROnline
MobileVRLabs
MobileVRServices
MobileVRRentals
MobileVRNews
MobileVRLive
MobileVRMarketing
MobileVRAccessories
MobileVRWearables
MobileVRChina
MobileVRIndia
MobileVRCloud
MobileVR4K
MobileVR5G
MobileVRiot
MobileVR / cloud
MobileVR / club

That's why i regged MobileAppsVR and MobileAppVR dotcoms.

Only got VRgestures.com in this vertical
Leap Motion is insane, blows my mind.

For those of you here interested in practical and well-grounded predicitions on future tech I highly remocommend checking out anything by David Holz, the guy is genius. Easily my fav VR speaker to listen to. (not you Elad, I know you're all over this stuff)

lol - This is so true. Though, not everyone has the funds to invest in better names (that is, if they recognize it) they certainly can take a chance on toiletflushingvr.com as most people who dabble with domaining are doing just that - Playing a lottery ticket. The thinking is - If I get lucky, I make some extra money. If not, I still have my day job.
