Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

360VRApp - 360VRTV .coms

Sky launches 360-video virtual reality app

Sky, which owns Sky News, is getting well and truly stuck into VR with the launch of a dedicated app.

It is an important moment for virtual reality, which now appears to have three paths to mainstream adoption: in gaming, with the imminent launch of Sony's PS4 compatible headset; in social, with Facebook, which owns VR-developer Oculus, pushing 360 videos and, eventually, headsets on its 1.7 billion users; and now in content, with Sky's app.

The app is free, compatible with Android, iPhone and Oculus, and starts with 22 VR films; this will be 30 by the end of the month, with more on the way.

Most interestingly, Sky's arrival fills a middle ground that has been unoccupied. At one end, there have been some extremely interesting VR films, mainly by independent companies; or efforts like the excellent New York Times VR app.

At the other, you have the technology giants investing huge amounts of money in hardware. (Sky is partnering with Google and Facebook for the app.)

Google to Unveil First Daydream Virtual Reality Headset Tuesday, Likely Priced $79
Google will not only use its Oct. 4 hardware event to unveil two new flagship phones, but the company is also going to introduce its first-ever Daydream virtual reality headset, Variety has learned from multiple sources. The device, which is meant to be used in conjunction with either of the two new phones, could be sold for as little as $79, according to a source with knowledge of the announcement

I can't find it.

I keep seeing that domain in auctions and always reaches nice prices between $15k-$17k but never gets completed due to a reserve on the listing.

I think when you put domains in auction, you are only really offering it for sale to domainers for the most part, so you have to be flexible what you are willing to take, $15k-$17k from a domainer is a fantastic.

If you want an end-user price for it though, go hunting or just sit on it and let them come to you. You aren’t going to get it in a domain auction, so keep putting it in one is the wrong way to go about it in my opinion, you are just wasting your own money.

Like Hilton Hotel or..
What's your plan with it? :)

My plan is to sell it. It's up to any buyer what they want to do with it. Obviously I wouldn't advise they use it for anything hotel related, or call themself Perez and cover celeb gossip.

VCs invest record $500 million in augmented and virtual reality in Q3
http://venturebeat.com/2016/10/03/v...llion-in-augmented-and-virtual-reality-in-q3/
As I said a few months ago... The Poke'mon effect !
The one killer app that brought the needed attention of VC's to VR & AR.

Those investments we see now will lead to products we should see next year.
It's been the VC's interest that I had been watching for in this niche to 'make it happen'.
Hundreds of start-ups, if not going belly up from waiting for the funding, will get their shot.
It should give us the needed 'content/experience' next year. Otherwise, this will be viewed as a fad.
Very good news for VR domains over the coming year and beyond.

Google’s VR Headset Is Daydream View

Following the reveal of the Daydream mobile VR ecosystem earlier in the year, Google has finally revealed the first headset to support it, Daydream View. The headset comes with a controller and launches in November for $79.

The new device was revealed at the Made By Google conference in San Francisco today. As expected, Daydream View will run with any Daydream ready smartphone. That includes the two new smartphones Google itself revealed at the event – Pixel and the larger Pixel XL for $649. They feature HD AMOLED displays Qualcomm 821 Snapgradon Quardcore processors, and 4GB RAM. The only real difference between the two is size; the original is 5 inches, while the XL is 5.5 inches. Impressively, View connects to these phones wirelessly.

The headset is wrapped in fiber that comes in different colors, and offers a “nice field of view” though specifics are thin on the ground right now. Google claims it’s 30% lighter than similar headsets (read: Gear VR). Outside of the US, the kit costs $99 in Canada, £69 in the UK, €69 in Germany, and $199 in Australia.

View also comes with a motion controller that’s closer in function to Nintendo’s Wii remote than it is an Oculus Touch or HTC Vive controller. It’s still incredibly accurate, though, and sturdy to; Google’s Clay Bavor accidentally dropped the device and it didn’t break. When you’re not using the headset, the controller tucks inside where the phone usually goes.

Several new experiences were announced for the device. They include a Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them game, based on J.K. Rowling’s book and upcoming movie set in the Harry Potter universe. CCP Games also confirmed Gunjack 2 using the new controller. Star Chart is also heading to the headset. Classic Google apps like Street View and YouTube will also be compatible.

The HBO and Netflix VR apps will also be heading to the platform, as will the New York Times’ VR experiences.
