Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Reread my post, take a deep breath and chill with the caps button. I never shared all the details about the entire call nor did I share details about our email exchanges, so I don't know where this negativity is coming from.
P.S. Instead of talking down, how about you share points in your sales routine VRdommy? Share the wealth! What particular numbers do you pitch about how a domain benefits a business?
I think it's clear what you did and didn't do from the first post. Calm Down !!!
Sorry you take it that way. You shared what you learned and I added my experience to it.
So I guess all I can say is... Sorry about your 'luck' , if that is what it is !

My pitches are situation specific because I take the time to know and understand who I am pitching to and what they might need and how my name might help with that.
I am 40% more recent success with cold calling after 12 years of practice.
The reason for that is, I don't try to sell something to someone that can't be a benefit to the end-user.

If you can't do/show that before the call, it is better "not" to make it in the first place. Wasted time.
You drill for oil where the oil is known to be.

You did not seem to know the end-user did not have a web presence before the call so you had a battle and sale to make with selling a web presence even before getting started with the pitching of the name.

You were not prepared for that as you did not expect it from the lack of just a little simple research.
But I already know that most of the APP's guys are probably correct in their assumption they do not need a web presence. Some who do dozens of apps, like to have one site to center on their creative talents.
They do in-platform promotions and web adds that lead users to the platform's web page with their listing. i.e. itunes store etc and the majority of that is done with mobile adds. Very targeted.
I doubt I would have ever pitched a name to a APP guy in the first place, especially one without a existing web presence.

And unless the name has high type-in traffic or search query's, there is very little you can say about a VR Name right now to show it has a marketing benefit to the buyer and add value.
The stats are not there and valuations reflect that.
With a few exceptions, that is why I have not been pitching my VR Names yet... To early.
Needless to say, I don't make that many pitches but the ones I make, I make count for all it is worth.

Sorry if I'm talking down in negativity but you did not do your homework before the cold call IMHO.

VROBAMA (no I did not register it)

Never a dull day at the office.
Shouldn't he be busy balancing the budget or fixing ObamaCare or something? or perhaps he is working on ObamaCare in Virtual Reality? lol

It wasn't a cold call and seriously.. That's a really long reply buddy. Apologies if you're upset but I really wasn't trying to piss you off. Your post is too long and way too drawn out, emotionally agitated over something you know nothing about for me to get sucked into some kind of debate. You're either refusing to reread my post or consciously refusing to a acknowledge that I spoke to the end user about more than what was detailed here in this thread. I feel that your need to debate me about something you know absolutely nothing about is coming from somewhere else. Whatever it is just know that I'm actually I'm not your enemy. I'm a good guy like you. Hope you come to realize that somehow. I mean no harm OK? Let's have fun! let's get back on topic huh? Showcasing? Talking about VR?

The phone call it's self was a follow up. I resent my first email pitch with those details, immediately after the call because he said he couldn't find it during our conversation - per his request. He may be just a nice guy but he still has potential as a buyer even though he gave a firm rejection, because he liked the domain alot. My ducks are in a row with a whiteboard nailed to the wall. I always follow up, but it's good to remember that because of cultural differences, people don't respond the same way in every country. It doesn't necessarily mean that your approach changes, but the kind of response you get needs to be considered differently.

Has anyone been developing their VR names? I'd love to see some examples.

I'll sign-up/join your sites ofc. :)

I am all prepared for the next "gold rush" of VR casino players. Redirected all my (+-140) VR/AR/MR gambling domains to the slotsmillionvr landingpage.

But it is still early. No depositing customers yet. The casino only supports the Oculus Rift at the moment and US players not allowed. Lot's of restrictions for other countries. When i earn some money with the site / network i will upgrade the hosting package. I do have a SSL certificate but have not activated it yet. But when the money is apearing i know what to do to make it even better... Until that moment, i sit back and relax / enjoy the summer weather at the pool.
