Hi,
Wanted to run this scenario by people:
For a development project lets say you've started an online shop selling mainly dvds.
So you've set up your brand - "Daves Dvd's", and regged davesdvds.com
Now in this scenario, davesdvds is going to have very little search credibility (0 exacts atm), but getting DVD.com or DVDs.com is going to be inaccesibly expensive for our Dave.
Would it be worthwhile also getting d-v-d.com or d-v-d-s.com which would bolster SEO crediblity by having potentially some of the 800,000+ Exacts and 30,000 exacts for DVD and DVDs coming through to DavesDVDs.com once a redirect was set up?
How credible an SEO strategy is this, and how likely is this to help? Would it be a redirect, or would you set this up as an article site telling people how good Daves DVD's are then backlinking to davesdvds from there??
If then the search term is very highly rated in terms of exacts, would the domain itself have any intrinsic value, or is the only value from the SEO potential?
Thanks all.
