I was wondering whether there is some kind of formula for traffic to value? I have a few domains which get some traffic abd was wondering how I value them? Or is it a case of revenue x?

Depends on if its natural like a search term.

Depends on how much traffic.

Depends on if its real traffic or china or bots.

Traffic isn't worth anything if the CPC is $0.00. Of course you need traffic to begin with, but CPC (Cost Per Click) & CTR (Click Thru Rate) are very important. If it's just traffic which doesn't convert, it ain't worth anything. And as Deathstarr says, if it's Chinese traffic or bots, it ain't worth anything either. If it's US traffic with good CPC and CTR, then it might have some value.

Thanks guys.
The one which has the most traffic is 90% coming from China so I guess not worth much, I am getting some click rate though.

I am also getting less traffic but more revenue *higher CTR) from some other domains.

Is there a formula for how much a domain is worth with revenue ie if the Domain is making on average $10 per month how much would the domain be worth etc..?

:talk:

short answer is NO

long answer:

it depends on the domain,

whether it is type-in or link/old website traffic

the keywords

the extension

the click thru rate

how long the domain has earned revenue

which ppc service you use

etc. etc

Thanks for your input guys I was hoping for an easy answer but I can tell unfortunately there isn't one.
I suppose like every domain it can vary greatly.

Thanks again.

The formula is to multiply the monthly revenue by a number of months. You choose how many months (between 6 and 60 - subjective numbers. could be more or less). You will probably need to show at least 3-6 months revenue trend to potential buyers. In my personal experience, if I had a domain making revenue, I would not sell it under this formula. I'd retain the revenue instead.

It's already been said here but the traffic valuation is going to be based on a number of different factors..

1) Revenue the traffic is making
2) Where the traffic is coming from (Search Engines, Type-Ins, Link Exchanges..etc)
3) How much traffic is coming in
4) What countries the traffic is from

Chinese traffic isn't going to be worth much unless you can find a chinese buyer (most likely)..But domains getting traffic from good countries like USA, UK, AU, CA..etc will sell even if they aren't making much (or any) revenue while parked.

If you have Chinese traffic, you should park those domains as Bodis. They seem to monetize that traffic better than anyone else. Of course there will always be exceptions.

Yes, parking site would be the best way to earn few bucks from your traffic domains even it has low quality traffic.
