.tv Value of popular girls names ???

In an unrelated search, I stumbled upon a few dot TVs that may have value. I haven't been following this area so I'm a little unsure.

Are common first names for gals, like Tami and Chrissy, worth anything (e.g. Tami.tv and Chrissy.tv)? I don't have any development plans for them but would probably just be looking to flip them...

I also found a couple of names that don't fit the extension in any apparent way but have around 500 million google results ~ names like under.tv and beside.tv Do names like these have any resale value?

Appreciate your input!

The answer on the generics is no without some obvious dev plan.

The value of girls names, or boys names, or NBA stars names is only valuable to the end user. And if they haven't bought it, it probably means they don't know what the heck a .tv is or they bought the .mobi already and are looking at very very very small pictures of themselves.

There is no sales data as there have not been any sales in this genre to speak of. Most names are $500 premium so the female or male name at regular could be worth something to the perfect buyer. I own Nadine.tv and Nadinetv.com Nadine was regular fee it gets about 70 uniques a month nothing special but its ok. Now the whole goal is a lotto type mentality for these type of names IMO. That a show will be named something like TBS has Frank TV. I think there is more overall value in Nametv.com as only $7 and someone might want their name for their youtube/myspace page and be willing to pay $100 to $300

I actually have a couple of TV show names, not just the one I have in .tv.

Only one of them, psych.tv really does any traffic. I would say for those, the com is the one.

There is a way to find upcoming show names......search google for "upcoming television shows" or "tv shows in pilot".

You can find some nice lists, but figuring out which will do well is a crap shoot.

Thanks much for the replies. Doesn't sound like these names are a very solid bet. Hadn't thought of the "Frank TV" angle, but again sounds like too much of a long shot for my investment purposes at the moment.

Not sure I understand this, tho... If most premium fee personal names are regged, seems like there would be demand for fairly common names (like Nadine) that aren't premium fee.

Well Ken I would agree with you that in other areas such as Geo for example, A non premium Geo seems to get interest because people know so many Geo TV are a premium. Geo has a development and monetization plan, where as First Name .tv is more of a novelty. Again IMO

Makes sense. Maybe I'll grad one of these names and put it up on Sedo and Afternic and see what happens, just for experiment's sake...

Where are TVs selling best these days anyway?
