Hi!

I am somewhat new to domain reselling. I registered a 1,800USD appraised by EstiBot domain name, Vacations Special.com

Was wondering how you guys would evaluate or actually pay for this domain. I have just sold it for 16.50 USD on Ebay and wanted to know if I should hold on to good domains like this and try other ways of selling it, or if I did a quick and good "flip" for a newly registered domain?

Thank you for your time everyone!

Anyone care to give me some insight on this, I want to know if I did a first good sale (done a few "not good" ones starting up) or if I might have gotten more had I tried selling it to people in this business?

I dont see any value in this name, it doesnt make sense to me.

VacationSpecials.com would have made more sense

Im surprised you got $16.50 for it.

Good luck

Yes gilescoley, if you had VacationSpecials.com, it would have make sense... But $16.50 is in a way good deal for VacationsSpecial.com

Well if you sold it you should honor your sale. The double "S" kills it.

I don't think it is about the double "S" as much as a plural word in an odd place. It makes the entire domain awkward sounding.

I agree on the double S together, if it was VacationSpecial.com I would give low X,XXX

One thing I would mention is do not be too hung up on estibot appraisals, while they can make it much easier to figure out if a domain is worth considering the real focus of your attention should be the traffic and search stats...if no one can be bothered looking for you it might be a good idea to move on :p

As you will see in the "total searches" field only 30 people a month in the world search for this exact term, as opposed to the 240 exact who search for SpecialVacations which though very close to your valuation with $2100 would've been a much better buy :)

Yes, I think you got very lucky with your sale, especially as it wasn't developed :)

Very interesting, thanks for the info / tip. Starting to use some tools which give a better idea based on search as you mentionned. Will try to get more valuable names this way, but they are not the easiest one to get either :)

Thanks again, your comment is appreciated.
