What is the free source program or something thats like Microsoft Visual Studio .net

(my teacher told us to download it, and i forgot what its called :P)

Mono is an open sourced .NET implementation... but it's not 100% compliant.

Otherwise, for free, you can download visual studio 2005 express beta, C#, VB, whatever... you're option.

There are some free C compilers, but you can't get a Visual C compiler for free. Google it to find places to buy it.
