I just won this name in an auction and I want to know how much I can sell this thing for. "U Work" is what comes to my mind when I see it. Anyone that responds to this, please give a price range in your appraisal, without being too vague. How much could I sell it to a domainer? How much to a end buyer? Thanks-

Edit- After already winning this auction, I've made the claim. I'm sorry for asking you all for an appraisal for a domain I had won, yet not finalized, however, It is technically official now.

Thanks for the help, but it'd be great to hear some $numbers. I got this domain for basically nothing because it had expired and I swiped it under the radar.

In your original message you said that you got it for $15....and that is what it is worth.

I gave you a real number...you just happened to have edited it out of your original post.

You did not "swipe" if under the radar...rest assured that there were lots of other people who were aware of its availability. You got it because no one else wanted it, hence the low amount.

Look, I't great that you're enthusiastic to not help, but I took out the price to encourage people to come up with their own numbers, without being primed by first having a look at any numbers that I dealt with. Also, this domain was mixed in with expired domains that where shitty 14 letter and then this was just there.

OK...."basically nothing" is also what you said.....so editing out the real amount did nothing to help your case.....basically nothing to most people is $0 to $25 in this biz.

If you don't want people to read what you post, then don't post it. Simple as that.

I'll be the judge of that.

Resale market: $x - low $xx

A lot of meaning less 4 letter .com domains are currently dropping and some domainers are even giving away 4 letter .com's that are up for renewal.

I was going to say around $10/$15 even before i read the full thread, and that would only be with a years reg.

I see nothing special about this domain, and YOU WORK is a stretch as a selling point IMO.

I'd give an appraisal of mid $xxx as fair for both seller and enduser.

Not trying to argue here, but that isn't really a good indicator of value. I don't know much about 4 letter domains such as this, but I flip domains almost weekly for mid xxx and higher that I picked up for under 20 bucks on godaddy backorders and tdnam. Most endusers I am aware of don't scan over auction lists on a daily basis, so it is quite possible that there would be endusers that want the domain, but they just did not know it was dropping. Not to mention I think it is very possible to get a good "reseller price" just because the right resellers did not see the domain dropping.

Appraisal removed due to lack of professionalism on the posters behalf. Shakes head in disbelief.

I have one more day until I have to pay godaddy for this domain I won. Should I cancel it, and pay the fee, or keep it? (Im on the phone on hold with godaddy right now. so ple
ase let me know soooon)

I won it, like I said. However I have not re-activated the domain, and If I don't do so in a few hours, then I lose the domain, and I lose my entire godaddy auction as a penalty for doing so. If I buy it, my empty bank account will go into overdraft fees, but if I cancel it within the 3 day grace period, I don't pay anything, but I lose my entire auction account. I can pay $50 to reistate my auction account at a later day, and I am suspended until then.

This wasn't a plan at all guys, it's simply an inconvenient week for me to be buying anything linked to my bank account. I hope you all understand. I believe it will be better for me in the short-run to just cancel the domain win. Sorry for wasting all of your time, but hey, keep an eye out for a cheap uwrk . com this week on godaddy.

Believe me, I didn't expect this to happen. It's embarrassing actually, but it's for the best. The guy on the line when I called godaddy thought I was crazy.

The guy at Godaddy is not the only person who thinks your crazy!

You buy a domain without the funds to pay for it, then post it in here for an appraisal, before you own it, wondering if you should indeed pay for it because some people (mistakenly IMO) have said it is worth XXX$, and others here you have argued with over the $15 price you posted, saying you dont want it judged on the $15 price you paid (but not yet paid)!

OMG. _\|/_

Steve, You just cost me 3 minutes of my life, that I will never EVER get back!

I read the beginning of your thread, and I was very close to giving you my help/opinion/my 2 cents...
Now, I see that you have a complete disregard for Business ethics, domaining, and us as a Community of potential Business Partners, and/or friends.
That pisses me off.

Please Delete your account...Steve Wise ???
Domaining is NOT for you!

I fixed things, and made the final purchase. I sold a random textbook to make it happen.

Guys who were rude: I DID NOT PLAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN! This was no evil plot against the world of domaining. This was an error on my part. However, I still managed to take responsibility and make ends meet. Your welcome, and I forgive you.
