Hi,
I am new to the forums, I am looking for information about sedo.
what has been your experience with them?
If I have read it right, it looks like they only charge when they actually sell
the domain is the correct?
and the fees are 10% of the selling price? 50.00 Min?
So lets say I sold a domain for $100 they would charge half is that correct?
looks like the first step I would do is register with them.
then set the name server's to sedo's?

what are your thoughts about using them?

Thanks!

If you park your domains with them, then they just take a flat rate of 10%

If a offer is reached between you and another party, Sedo takes care of the transfer of the domain and the payment with their escrow service. The only charge for the whole process is the 10% fee if you have it parked with them.

would this be possible?

once seller is given an offer by an interested buyer,
the seller unparks his domain and sells it to the buyer off-sedo
to get around 10% charge..

does sedo do anything to disallow it?

I would'nt think sedo would have any of that. And could possibly take legal action,That is part of the agreement to park it there for sale.

When the buyer makes an offer through Sedo, you do not deal directly with the buyer. You don't know who they are. If the buyer was experienced, they could simply look up your reg info and make an offer to you directly.

I have heard that Sedo is not very good, trying selling on these forums.

so if i'm contacted directly by a buyer, not through sedo's offer,
then i'm not subject to 10% charge even though my domain
is parked at sedo. right?

I don't know what sedo has in its fine print, but they do not have exclusive rights to your name. You can sell it on your own outside of sedo, even if its listed there. If a buyer contacted you without bidding through sedo, then naturally, you could sell it without the 10% fee. BUT -- consider the fact that the 10% INCLUDES the complete escrow transaction... a service you'd have to buy if you sold the name on your own.

If you don't sell it through Sedo, you don't owe Sedo any money.
