Ok so like I am having a moment of like the Gamestop Sales Clerk was just having a real "DUH" moment or what. I am laughing at the situation and thought you got to be kidding. But here goes. I am willing to be laughed at if someone agrees with the sales clerk - but hey C'est La Vie.

I went to Gamestop shopping/pricing etc for a PSP Bundle and on a Used PSP. I realized I was a wee bit short on the PSP Daxter Bundle. So I asked if they had a Used PSP. The clerk proceded to tell me that they do not have any Used only Refurbished. He than said that all that used and refurbished are all in the same. I said "Huh?", Uh no they are not the same. I had asked because they do have different pricing or atleast to on New, Used and Refurbished Consoles.

He than asked what I thought a refurbished was. I said a refurbished is when a customer buys a product - brings it home and finds out the product is damaged in some way(I said the product is jacked) therefore having to return it to be repaired. Used would be where a customer buys the product, brings it home, enjoys the product to its full intended purpose of purchasing the product - than sells to someone else. He than in return said yeah to me that is the same to him. To me damage before use and used are not the same.

What do you think ? Is used and refurbished the same?

I agree with you. Used and Refurbished are two different things, like you stated.
:hehe: @ clerk.

Used and refurbished are similar, however not the same. In my experience, refurbished usually cost more because they have been fixed or repaired and are guaranteed to work like a brand new console.

Refurbed items are checked to ensure they are in 100% working order by the manufacturer and come with everything in the box that it's supposed to. They are normally backed by warranty whereas used items are normally returns or trade-ins, and often sold as-is. If the store has a decent return policy then this may not be a big deal.

I'm not sure on this but, I believe refurbed units are also brought up to the latest firmware version, etc. The thing with game systems, I have heard that many like to get their units "modded", and sometimes mods only work through certain product versions/serial numbers, etc...

What you are describing is "Factory Refurbished"...

Technically GameStop refurbishes the units themselves by testing, cleaning, and repackaging them for resale. They have ditched the term "used" for consoles for the most part in favor of refurbished.
