Hey, I am looking to create a flash video that is only available online, so there will be no distribution of it on CDs or anything. I am wondering what the copyright laws are for using a real song that was recorded by an artist other than myself. I looked around online and all the copyright-permission granting sites for music are about redistribution and reselling a song that another artist wrote.

For example, I couldn't just put in a real song by the Beatles without getting permission from their recording company could I? How does this work?

Thanks and I really appreciate all the help I can get,
Matt
