Use Google As A Proxy

Here's a little Google hack that will allow you to use Google's translation service as a free proxy:

I figured that out a long time ago before I actually discovered that actual proxies were better .

Any school with somewhat decent protection will not allow this. Their filters will notice the arrangement of certain words in the URL and block the site.

Maybe it will work on this site since my school decided to block showthread.php.

It wont, as "showthread.php" will still be in the URL.

My school also blocked showthread.php, but when I tried this method, and used TinyURL in school also, it worked. Here's what I did:

Go to http://www.no_url_shorteners, and make http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=149726 shorter.

Here's the new link I come up with:
http://no_url_shorteners/bsbdu

Now just implement it with Google's Translation Service.

It becomes:
http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=http://no_url_shorteners/bsbdu

School computers are so insecure, you can get past their protections easily. Like I did :D

You sould all try PHProxy if you have lots of domains where you can change to if one gets blocked.
I am currently on http://proxy.threesoft.net/
You should check it out, and the URLs are encrypted so filtering is very hard :P
