It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Meanwhile, the fine name sport.us (not mine) is on Sedo auction now with a single $3,500 bid:

http://sedo.com/auction/detail/sport.us/50690_us__

I hope it goes through. It is an exceptional name!
Auction ended @ $5,101

Great sale! :tu:

Another bidder joined the auction in the end and he tried to win it but "bidder 1" was interested enough in this name :)

Congrats to the seller.

Wow, sport.us is an encouraging sale. I don't put much faith in single-bidder sales reflecting the market, since it is often an end user who really needs a particular name and may not know much or anything about domain name valuation. But to see sport.us go for $5,101 in a contested sale is a great sign, IMHO.

I would expect that the plural (sports.us) would be worth considerably more.

I was bored yesterday and realized I hadn't purchased any names for quite a while so I regged RatsAss.us.

I don't think it's worth anything; I just like saying "rat's ass".

I don't know why I like that name but I do. It's Very catchy :D

Just picked up StimulusPayment (dot) us. My first .us and I thought the extention fit this one great. Nice search volume for this one. Gonna try and grab some of that traffic while the irons hot.

After reading some of this thread, it makes me realize that domainers are kind of preventing new TLD's from ever becoming popular among the mainstream. I'm not trying to be a hater or anything, and I love premium domains like the next guy, but you have to admit that as long as we buy up literally every generic combo a new TLD's has to offer, before non-domainers have the chance to move in, it's self defeating.

I don't blame anyone for this. Just an observation.

Giode, you are right about that! Only the guys that want to spend big cash can buy one of these generics from us domainers..

Barbra.US

Thinks Barbra Streisand and Barbra Bush, just to name 2 that quickly came to mind.

Stevie may have some more insight on this one, but i believe that solid GEO and relevant First Name .US domains are a pretty good investment?

Defnetly a good investment,

I only have 2 first names, Kirsty.us and 1 other (been going back and forth with a potential buyer for about 8 weeks now :) ) Not even a big sale if it were to go through :)

I never really invested a lot into geo names, but regretting that now, i do have afew nice names,

VisitAtlanta.us : Design is here: http://launchplanet.com/steve2/

So thats coming soon.

I think in the next year i'll be investing in lots of nice geo names :)

Nice name, though the former first lady is actually Barbara Bush. Ms. Streisand is indeed a Barbra.

Generally I agree, it's Barbara Bush. At the same time, i've seen multiple news stories over the past years, where she was renamed to Barbra.
I figured, if some of the media misspells her name, it's good enough for me. :hehe:
I also definitely agree with Barbra Streisand being the only well known person (to me) with the name spelled correctly as Barbra. So, the question becomes, how many Barbra's are out there?!

Back to the .US thread :) Stevie, how big is your .US portfolio by now?! D-:
