I've been having lots of issues with .US domains at NameCheap.

You can't make contact updates and they say it's fine.

Transferred all my .US domains out.

Anyone else have this issue?

I was suprised to find that there was an ISP called "feds-are-ass.gov"
It showed up when I added a visitor counter to a web site that I was developing.
I expected that there would be no visitors as I had told no one of my new web site.
But It seems like you can't do anything on the web without the bots finding you.
And the bots have found http://www.exe.us
exe.us is different from other video web sites in that anyone on the web can
easily download any video that you upload.
If you do upload anything, please enter your email address during signup
or I will just delete you. I might send you an email back.
I usually turn exe.us off at night.

The lack of WHOIS privacy in .US is a problem.

I have a separate address and phone for that.

Any time a .US domain is moved into my information I get inundated with spam SEO/web design/logo design calls for several days. It's very annoying.

Only several days. They have been calling me for a year about the last .us that I purchased.

Hey, I get why you’re concerned! Nevertheless, if you encounter anything other than the security certificate warning, I wouldn’t recommend visiting the site. Of course, it could still be safe, unless the message specifically mentions something like 'phishing.
