US market prefer 'for' or '4'?

Hi guys,

This question is specifically for US forum members.

Here in the UK, we have a thing about using the number '4' as a replacement for the word 'four' (companys such as 'phones4u' etc).

Is it the same in the US? or does the american market prefer the word 'four'?

It does work but it's not optimal imho. Really it's going to depend on your marketing ability.

I would say if you can secure both domains that is the way to go because then you can redirect one domain to the other and eliminate any possible traffic loss, in your example of phones4you it would be "4" or "for" and not "four" as "four" is used as 1,2,3,4 and makes no sense as phonesfouryou unless everyone plans on buying four phones.
